Bena is an authority on mental health and well-being in the legal profession. She is a trusted advisor to lawyers, law firms, and corporate legal departments, providing counselling, education and training, and consultation on how to navigate mental health and lawyer well-being.

Bena is a non-practicing lawyer, a registered clinical counsellor, a mother, and the wife of a litigator. She was a litigator for 24 years, practicing primarily medical negligence and insurance defense before transitioning to an in-house role where she defended lawyers. Bena retired from law and obtained a master’s degree in counselling so she could make lawyer well-being her career focus.
