How long are sessions? Individual counselling sessions are 60 minutes. Couples counselling sessions are 90 minutes. -
How much does it cost and how do I pay? Individual counselling sessions are $185 plus GST. Couples counselling sessions are $277.50 plus GST. You can pay by cheque, credit card, or e-transfer. We believe that counselling should be accessible. If cost is a barrier for you, please send us an email at [email protected] . -
Does my insurance cover me? As an RCC, our services may be covered by your medical benefits plan. Please consult with your plan before booking a session. We do not bill directly to medical benefits plans but will give you a receipt at the end of each session for you to submit to your medical benefits plan provider. -
Do you offer free initial consultations? We offer 10-minute telephone or video sessions in which you can ask questions and communicate your current concerns. We can then schedule a session if we decide to work together. Please email us at [email protected] to schedule a time. -
What if I need to cancel or change my appointment? To cancel or change a session outside the booking window of 24 hours, you can make the changes online or call the office. Cancellations or changes made less than 24 hours prior to a session will be considered as a missed session and you will be charged the full session amount. We understand that emergencies and unexpected circumstances happen. If you find yourself in an emergency situation or something unexpected has occurred, please telephone the office so we can work around your situation. -
What if I have an emergency? We provide elective care to clients and are not available for crisis calls. If you have an emergency, please seek medical attention at your local emergency department, call 9-1-1, or the Crisis Centre at 604-310-6789 or 1-800-784-2433 if you are having thoughts of suicide. -
Are there any risks to counselling? Although benefiting from counselling is often the result, there are potential risks. Sometimes the counselling process can bring up painful memories that may result in strong emotions or reactions. This may alter how you understand yourself or others, which at times can be difficult. Sometimes you may feel worse before you feel better. You can always discuss these experiences with us. -

G.H. lawyer client
Endless client demands, challenging opposing counsel, and stress at home can all contribute to anxiety and depression. Stigma holds many lawyers back from seeking support.
We understand how difficult it is to ask for help when you’re the expert at solving other people’s problems. But everyone experiences challenges in life and lawyers are no different. Many people seek counselling to navigate adversity. As a counsellor and former lawyer, I have personal experience and understanding of what you may be encountering. I get “it.” I’ve been there. I help overwhelmed, stressed lawyers and their families regain their lives, and I can help you.
Counselling offers you a confidential space to share your thoughts, emotions, and ideas without judgment. It is an opportunity to better understand yourself and others, and gain clarity.
